Emil was born 1980 in former Yugoslavia. Growing up with artists and designers in the family, pencils and lettrasets were among his earliest toys. Playfully learning to observe and draw the world around him while also experimenting with typography, it was the early discovery of comics and graphic novels that rapidly accelerated the learning curve. The decision to pursue visually creative endeavors was a no-brainer.
War happened in 1992, so he emigrated to Austria and soon entered Die Graphische in Vienna, the first institution of it's kind in Europe. After graduating in the branch graphic design, he worked in various graphic & advertising agencies, while also pursuing freelance projects, mainly in the fields of advertising, design and illustration. The focus for the future is expanding the illustration sector as much as possible.
After all, home is where the heart is.
